Diarrheagenic (DEC) is an emerging agent among pathogens that causes diarrhea. Studies showed that diarrheagenic such as enterohaemorrhagic (EHEC), enteroaggregative (EAEC), enteropathogenic (EPEC), enteroinvasive (EIEC), enterotoxigenic (ETEC), diffusely adhering (DAEC) and shiga toxin producing (STEC) strains are among the most frequent causative agents in acute diarrhea. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of DEC pathotypes in Khuzestan province.
Stool samples were collected from patients with diarrhea in Khuzestan province of Iran. strains were isolated using conventional culture and standard biochemical tests. The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique was used to detect presence of virulence genes, i.e; , 1 and 2 for EHEC, and for EPEC, and for ETEC, for EAEC, for EIEC, 1 and 2 for STEC.
Altogether, 200 stool samples were obtained from patients, of which 158 (79%) were positive for . DEC was identified in 127 (63%) of stool samples, which frequency of each pathotypes were as follows: atypical EPEC 49 (39%), typical EPEC 1 (0.7%), STEC 50 (39.3%), ETEC 21 (16.3%), EAEC 5 (4.0%) and EIEC 1 (0.7%). Most frequent etiological agents of diarrhea in Khuzestan province of Iran were STEC and EPEC.
Our findings showed DEC had been agent of diarrhea in Khuzestan. This finding provides evidence that effort should be made to estimate the burden of infection by the etiological agent for better medical approach and should raise notification about antibiotic resistance among bacterial infection.
致泻性大肠埃希菌(DEC)是引起腹泻的病原体中一种新出现的病原体。研究表明,诸如肠出血性大肠埃希菌(EHEC)、肠集聚性大肠埃希菌(EAEC)、肠致病性大肠埃希菌(EPEC)、肠侵袭性大肠埃希菌(EIEC)、产肠毒素性大肠埃希菌(ETEC)、弥漫黏附性大肠埃希菌(DAEC)和产志贺毒素大肠埃希菌(STEC)等致泻性大肠埃希菌是急性腹泻最常见的病原体。本研究的目的是确定胡齐斯坦省DEC致病型的频率。
从伊朗胡齐斯坦省腹泻患者中采集粪便样本。使用传统培养和标准生化试验分离菌株。采用聚合酶链反应(PCR)技术检测毒力基因的存在,即:EHEC的stx1和stx2、EPEC的eaeA和bfpA、ETEC的lt和st、EAEC的aggR、EIEC的ipaH、STEC的stx1和stx2。
共从患者中获得200份粪便样本,其中158份(79%)对大肠埃希菌呈阳性。在127份(63%)粪便样本中鉴定出DEC,各致病型的频率如下:非典型EPEC 49份(39%)、典型EPEC 1份(0.7%)、STEC 50份(39.3%)、ETEC 21份(16.3%)、EAEC 5份(4.0%)和EIEC 1份(0.7%)。伊朗胡齐斯坦省腹泻最常见的病原体是STEC和EPEC。
我们的研究结果表明DEC是胡齐斯坦腹泻的病原体。这一发现提供了证据,表明应努力评估该病原体的感染负担,以采取更好的医疗方法,并应提高对细菌感染中抗生素耐药性的通报。
