Abstract

The effect of Fuzhuan brick tea (FBT) on metabolism in obese mice is mediated by regulation of N-methyltransferase by aryl hydrocarbon receptor. The expression of the phosphatidylethanolamine N-methyltransferase gene is regulated by many transcription factors, and those specific to this effect need further investigation. Experimental animal studies have been designed to observe the effects of a single drug or the sequential effects of drugs. A washout period should be included if different drugs (, antibiotics and FBT) are given to avoid or reduce additive effects or synergy. Currently, most experimental studies performed in mice used only male animals. However, experience has revealed that the results of using only male mice are very likely to have sex differences.

茯砖茶(FBT)对肥胖小鼠新陈代谢的影响是通过芳烃受体对N-甲基转移酶的调节来介导的。磷脂酰乙醇胺N-甲基转移酶基因的表达受多种转录因子调控,而对此效应具有特异性的转录因子有待进一步研究。实验动物研究旨在观察单一药物的作用或药物的序贯作用。如果给予不同药物(如抗生素和FBT),应设置洗脱期以避免或减少相加作用或协同作用。目前,大多数在小鼠身上进行的实验研究仅使用雄性动物。然而,经验表明仅使用雄性小鼠的实验结果很可能存在性别差异。
