Liver cancer is a malignancy of the digestive system and has a high morbidity and mortality rate. Local intervention has become a viable option in identifying liver treatment. The aim of the present study was to analyze the changes of Th1/Th2 cytokines in patients with primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after radiofrequency ablation (RFA) treatment. 26 patients with stage III-IV liver cancers and 25 healthy controls were selected to participate in the study. HCC patients were initiated with RFA treatment and the serum levels of alpha fetoprotein (AFP) and Th1/Th2 cytokines were valued. We found that with the level of AFP decreased, the levels of Th1 cytokines including interleukin-2 (IL-2), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interferon-γ (IFN-γ) were significantly increased after treatment with RFA (<0.05). Meanwhile, the levels of Th2 cytokines consist of interleukin-4 (IL-4), IL-6 and IL-10 were decreased markedly on the contrary, and the differences were statistically significant (<0.05). In conclusion, the levels of Th1/Th2 cytokines were correlated with the change of AFP in patients of HCC after treatment with RFA, which might be an important guiding significance for the prognosis of HCC.
肝癌是消化系统的一种恶性肿瘤,发病率和死亡率都很高。局部干预已成为肝癌治疗的一种可行选择。本研究的目的是分析原发性肝细胞癌(HCC)患者在射频消融(RFA)治疗后Th1/Th2细胞因子的变化。选取26例III-IV期肝癌患者和25例健康对照者参与本研究。对HCC患者进行RFA治疗,并检测血清甲胎蛋白(AFP)水平和Th1/Th2细胞因子水平。我们发现,随着AFP水平的下降,RFA治疗后包括白细胞介素-2(IL-2)、肿瘤坏死因子-α(TNF-α)和干扰素-γ(IFN-γ)在内的Th1细胞因子水平显著升高(<0.05)。同时,相反地,由白细胞介素-4(IL-4)、IL-6和IL-10组成的Th2细胞因子水平明显降低,差异具有统计学意义(<0.05)。总之,RFA治疗后HCC患者Th1/Th2细胞因子水平与AFP的变化相关,这可能对HCC的预后具有重要的指导意义。
